Are you interested in visiting with the elderly but you don’t know what to say or feel a little awkward about it? Do you want to help in Long Term Care facilities by visiting the residents, but you don’t how to get started? Are you already involved in ministry or care at a Long-Term Care home but you want to be more effective in your Christian care? This event is for all who are interested in ministering through worship or visitation among elderly or those living with long term care needs. Please join us for a FREE informative and practical one-day conference on January 11 at Providence CanRC 582 Southcote Road, Ancaster, to learn a Biblical orientation for spiritual care, the spiritual needs of people in long term care, visitation "dos and don'ts" and more. Registration will be at 8:30 am, with presentations beginning at 9:00 am. Most of the conference will be hosted at Providence church, but the day will end with an optional opportunity to apply what we have learned with a visit to St. Peters at approximately 2:30 pm. Session leaders include Tom McCormick – Seminary Professor; Chaplain; Author of multiple books including “Nursing Home Ministry-A Manual” and “Nursing Home Ministry: Where Hidden Treasures Are Found”; and Director of the Word and Spirit Institute Program: Ministries for the Aging.
