Study Society Kick-off Meeting

Time:
8:00pm
Location:
Kerwood church
Description:
In many ways September marks the beginning of a new year of church life. We resume schedules and in doing so take up our task in earnest to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18a). This week Tuesday catechism classes begin. Next Wednesday September 20 we have a 'kick-off' evening scheduled D.V. We hope to come together to give focus on our calling to "grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ (Ephesians 4:15c). And then there are the various study groups and societies who we trust meet with the same goal. The elders have chosen Ephesians 4: 15 - 16 as the home visitation theme. To help prepare for this season of family visiting and the catechism classes and all our study evenings opportunities/responsibilities/privileges we will look at this wonderful text thinking together on what it means to mature in Christ. This is a calling that young and old must strive for. Our preaching text for Sunday morning September 24 will, God willing, further focus on this high calling.
Let us together be in prayer for God's added blessing. As the hymn writer put it:
Another year of service, of witness for Thy love;
Another year of training for holier work above.
Another year is dawning! Dear Father let it be
on earth, or else in heaven, another year for Thee.
