Description:
Topic: Handling Judgment & Unsolicited Advice as Christian Parents
Have you ever found yourself quietly carrying feelings of frustration, guilt, grief, or protectiveness in response to comments or stares? Join us on April 30 at 7:30 pm via Zoom as Margaret Heemskerk, Director of Peace Haven, shares biblical encouragement and practical wisdom for navigating judgment and unsolicited advice as parents of children with exceptionalities. With over 30 years of experience as a support worker, Margaret will also share insights from her journey of walking alongside individuals with exceptionalities and their families. During this parent support group, we will acknowledge the very real emotions that can arise while offering a Christ-centered perspective and simple, grace-filled tools to help you protect your child’s dignity and your family’s peace. Together, we will be reminded of this comforting truth: God entrusted this child to you. Your calling is sacred, and your parenting is not an accident. We pray that you will come and be encouraged, strengthened, and renewed. To RSVP and receive a Zoom link - Contact Melody at melody.schulenberg@gmail.com or Lorissa at rlvanveen@gmail.com
