Youth Canoe Trip

Description:
We will be going ahead with the canoe trip on June 5/6. Rough itinerary is as follows:
• Meet at Jim & Yvonne Bultje's at 5:00 (10750 Longwoods Road, Chatham, ON) to drop off gear.
• Travel to the Kent Bridge Country Store (behind) where you will embark on your journey at 5:15.
• Between 6:00 - 6:30 - arrive back at Bultje's via the Thames River.
• Enjoy supper, swimming, a campfire and a guest speaker.
• Saturday morning - eat breakfast around 8:00 am.
• Potentially create and test cardboard boats. (we are trying to source cardboard)
• Around 10:00 am - embark on our journey to Chatham with a stop at George and Tracy Bultje's along the way for a swim and a snack.
• Between 12:00 and 1:00 - arrive at the Thamesgrove conservation area in Chatham (End of Kingsway Dr.).
***Youth will need to be picked up at the Conservation Area. We will arrange a phone relay to let you know when. Please make your way back to Bultje's to pack up and help wash the canoes.
Items to bring:
• Tent (if you have one, or arrange to share a friends)
• Sleeping bag/pillow
• Swimsuit & towel
• Toiletries
• Lifejacket if you have one
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray
If you have (or have access to a canoe/kayak or other flotation device) please let me know! We could use a couple more chaperones or volunteers for cooking, if any parents would like to join the fun. Please email me with the names of who will be attending so that we can finalize numbers by June 1 and let us know if there are any food allergies that we need to be aware of.
