The Treasure of The Psalms In Worship – Music Conference

Date:

Saturday, May 4, 2019

Time:

8:00pm

Location:

Blessings Christian Church, 115 Stanley Ave., Hamilton, Ontario

Description:

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…”
As a community of believers, the Canadian Reformed Church is called to do everything in Christ. One major way, as Colossians 3 tells us, is through psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. With that in mind, we are excited to host a Music Conference on May 3rdand 4th, 2019.
Plenty of time and energy has been spent focusing on the differences we see, so this conference is focused on that which brings us together. With several excellent speakers (including Peter Holtvluwer, Tim Nijenhuis, Kent Dykstra and Martin Jongsma) and additional music professionals, we will focus on the history of song in the church, the Genevan Psalter and tunes, the use of music to enrich the worship service, and more.
The Conference will include several workshop options regarding history, musicality, and the church, and meals and refreshments will of course be provided. Saturday afternoon will bring everything together in a panel discussion. The Conference concludes with a concert on Saturday evening featuring a wide variety of ways that psalms can be sung in worship, and will include a performance by Jamie Soles.
Please join us at Blessings Christian Church, 115 Stanley Ave., Hamilton, Ontario. Conference tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Accommodations will be available for those who need it.
For questions and tickets, please email praiseworks@gmail.com. or go to www.eventbrite.com and search for "Psalms" and "Hamilton" to register. We look forward to seeing you all in May.
